Little Stories To Encourage And Inspire

Charlie Is My Hero

In the community where I used to work as a postman lives a gentle man that is a living example of the word gentleman. He is a gospel preacher and a teacher although he retired from teaching many years ago. I'm not sure how old he is but if the age of one hundred was a mountain top it would be in his view. Regardless of what his actual age really is you wouldn't believe it because he's truly young at heart and "sharp as a tack".

When he would drive through the neighborhood he would always slow down to wave and give me that little boost of encouragement that helped me through the day. No less than once a month he would meet me at the mailbox with an ice cream to cool me down on a hot afternoon. If you ever visit him (and you should) be sure to ask for an ice cream - he keeps the best in the world in his freezer.

In addition to all of the above and the purpose of this little story is the fact that he always had a cute little joke of some kind to tell. If you need a source for good clean jokes, talk to Charlie. Following is Charlie's joke for today:

The Preacher Who Cut Himself Shaving

A little boy was looking up at the preacher one Sunday after services and noticed a cut on his cheek. The little boy asks, "Sir, How did you get that awful cut on your cheek?" The preacher replied, "Well young man, this morning I was concentrating so hard on today's sermon that I cut myself shaving."

The little boy thought for a moment and said,

"Well sir, next Sunday why don't you concentrate on your shaving and cut your sermon!"
